Osher Foundation Gives $1 Million to Woods College

The James A. Woods, SJ, College of Advancing Studies has received a $1 million gift from the Bernard Osher Foundation of San Francisco to endow the recruitment and retention of “re-entry” students to the school. The Osher Foundation defines re-entry students as individuals who have experienced an interruption in their education of five or more years and who have decided to resume their undergraduate studies to complete their degree.
“It is the only financial aid award specially earmarked for this select group of talented students,” said Fr. Woods, in announcing the grant. “The gift recognizes the transformative impact of the Woods College of Advancing Studies as it encourages and supports the successful realization of students’ goals.”
