Give to BC

Personal Thanks

Campus Minister, Ignatian Family Teach-In/SOA Vigil, Urban Immersion, Cuernavaca Service Trip

"I am very grateful for your generosity. Without you, our programs in Campus Ministry as well as other University programs would literally not happen. Non-classroom experiences are essential to the growth and education of the whole BC student, and there are countless testimonies from students that underscore that belief. The various programs have opened their eyes and helped them discover their own skills, strengths, and responsibilities to live a life of service. Very idealistic? Yes, but a goal to achieve. Thank you very much and may every blessing be yours."

“I have been fortunate to have many opportunities to get involved on campus, serving as a resident assistant for West Duchesne Hall on Newton Campus, a 48HOURS leader, and an orientation leader for the Office of First Year Experience. My favorite activity at Boston College, however, has been serving as the senate vice president for the Undergraduate Government of Boston College. As a senator, it has been my job to be an advocate for the students at Boston College and their interests. I have enjoyed partnering with students and administrators to inspire positive change on this campus. Without your support, these opportunities would not exist for me or for others. Thank you, I am truly grateful for your generosity!”

“Your contribution helped support Kairos, a Campus Ministry retreat program that reaches out to the student body and fosters personal and spiritual development. My involvements with Kairos and a service trip to New Orleans have been two of the most important experiences I've had at BC. Gifts from you and your fellow alumni help make Kairos retreats and Appalachia service trips possible year after year. On behalf of all participants in these programs, I'd like to thank you for your gift!”

“I just wanted to say thank you for your gift last year. It really has had a positive effect on our experience as students. One of my favorite organizations to be a part of is the Campus School. The Campus School is located in the Lynch School and is a school for students ages 3-21 with complex behavioral and mental disabilities. Through this school, I have been able to see the importance of education for all children, disability or not. Education has a positive impact on everyone. Also, I was able to run the 2007 Boston Marathon for the Campus School, something I would have never thought I could do until I had this cause to run for. Without your support, I would not have been able to have such amazing experiences with the Campus School.”

“Your support allowed me to get involved with activities outside the classroom that helped bring to life all that I am learning inside the classroom. I have been fortunate enough to spend two of my spring break weeks in Jamaica, working with Mustard Seed Communities, an organization that shelters kids with disabilities. I am also an orientation leader, working with the incoming freshmen to help them learn about the wonderful things they can do here at BC--all because of you! Thanks!”

"Over the past three years, I have had a tremendous time here at BC, getting involved in student government (UGBC) and the newly established club hockey team. My experiences at Boston College have shaped my life, and I know I am better off for my time at this University. Thank you so much for your contribution to making BC such an amazing place.”

“Thank you so much for your commitment to the BC mission. Your gift helps support research and teaching initiatives that allow me to remain entrepreneurial and stay on the cutting edge of my discipline. I have received internal teaching and research incentive grants from BC that have helped me create new courses and conduct pilot research projects in the field of urban ecology. The study of urban ecology provides wonderful opportunities to investigate the role of humans as ecosystem engineers and to contribute scholarship to policies of sustainable city management. Over the past five years, our team has received over $4 million in federal grants for research and curriculum development that was made possible, in part, by the initial funding from folks like you. It’s a great return on your investment.”
