Anthony Sansevero, A&S '99

Anthony Sansevero always wanted to go to Boston College. "I was so excited the day my acceptance letter came," he recalls. "And then when I got there, BC gave me everything I could have hoped for—a great education, lots of friends, and the opportunity to grow into the person I am today."

What Sansevero did not anticipate, however, was the way BC would continue to enrich his life even after graduation. "There is such a strong bond among BC alumni," he says. "You see it in places like the BC Club or out in the professional world, where a BC degree really resonates with people. In job interviews, the mention of BC always sparks an interest."

An administrator with the mayor's office in Quincy, Mass., a member of the city's park and recreation board, and a certified emergency medical technician, Sansevero might be forgiven for not having the time or energy to give to Boston College. Still, he makes it a priority to do so every year. "I know that BC relies heavily on donations for financial aid, for athletics, for the campus—for just about everything," he explains. "So if no one gave, BC wouldn't be anywhere near the place it is today. I think it's important to give whatever you can afford. The amount isn't important because every single dollar helps."
