David Roccosalva '81, MA '85

From the moment David Roccosalva '81, MA '85, arrived at Boston College, he knew he'd found the place where he belonged. "I couldn't put my finger on just one thing," he says. "It was the sum total of everything—my friends, my professors, and the BC atmosphere—that always made me feel like anything was possible." Eager to help pass along that feeling of possibility to new generations of young men and women, Roccosalva has made a gift to BC almost every year since his graduation.

A principal with Page & Turnbull, award-winning architectural preservation firm in San Francisco, Roccosalva has a deep appreciation for both BC's traditions and the way it has evolved as a university. "I've been so impressed with things like the Church in the 21st Century program and the decision in 2005 to award an honorary degree to Paul Farmer, the founder of Partners in Health," he says. "BC hasn't sold out and it hasn't rested on its laurels. It feels more like a new place that's grown from tradition."
