Robert and Patricia Arcoro, P'99

arcoroLike many members of the Boston College community, Robert and Patricia Arcoro, P'99, of Old Westbury, New York, support the University in multiple ways. They make annual gifts to the Boston College Fund, contribute to an endowed scholarship, and come to campus several times a year to catch a football game or attend events like Pops on the Heights.  Arcoro, president of the management firm Arkaid, Inc., also serves on BC's Wall Street Council.

Given their enthusiasm for Boston College, it's surprising to learn that the Arcoros aren't alumni. "We didn't attend BC, but we still feel like we're part of a tight-knit family there," says Arcoro. The couple's son, Robert '99, was their initial tie to the University, but the connection has extended beyond his four years at the Heights.

"BC has made a real difference in Rob's life," says Patricia. "Many of his closest friends are friends he met there, including his fiancĂ©e. BC is their nucleus."

Struck by the quality of their son's educational experience, the Arcoros began supporting Boston College financially while Robert was a student. Through his former company, Executive Office Network, Ltd., Arcoro also provided BC with its Manhattan office.

Later, the couple established a scholarship fund to enable other students to benefit, as Rob did, from the BC experience. The fund provides financial assistance with a perference to qualified students from the East Meadow High School in East Meadow, New York.

"We both graduated from East Meadow, as did our two children," says Arcoro. "We knew most of these kids wouldn't be able to choose BC without some financial help. We thought they should have the opportunity."
