Today, BC's reach as a university has never been greater. BC's research centers bring together a community of scholars who are making a real impact on today's world. The programs embody BC's Jesuit Catholic mission and complement the academic initiatives of the University, providing students and faculty with opportunities to take what they have learned one step further. Today, BC has more than 20 research centers—twice as many as a decade ago—which attract 50 percent of the external funding to the University. This gives BC a new responsibility to maintain these groundbreaking programs. Foundation support is rarely endowed, and gifts to the BC Fund help these centers of excellence grow and thrive.
