Students head off to Appalachia

BC students leave the Heights with more than just a diploma: they take with them lifelong friendships, great memories, and the unique skills and values to make a real difference. BC was founded in the Jesuit tradition of educating young people to become leaders and a "leaven for good" in the world. Today, our students continue to thrive in an atmosphere that interweaves intellectual, ethical, and personal formation.

The BC Experience is found in the cheers that echo at football games, in the bonds developed among roommates in our residence halls, and in activities like Appalachia (photo at right) and First Year Experience. The BC Fund provides the opportunities that enrich our students' lives outside the classroom—opportunities that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.

Boston College offers a rigorous academic program for its students. But when graduates recall their BC experience, they remember much more than just the time spent in the classroom. A wide array of activities and programs, happening both on and off the Heights, come together to make the BC experience so rewarding.

With more than 200 activities to choose from, students can participate in programs that reflect their personal interests, talents, and passions, making each student's BC experience unique.
