    1. What is the Boston Pops Orchestra?
      1. The Boston Pops provides music lovers in Boston and throughout the country the chance to hear good music in all its varied flavors. The orchestra offers concerts in Symphony Hall each year, including a spring season from May to early July and a month of holiday concerts in December. With its concerts at home and on tour, and its many recordings, the Boston Pops is truly America's orchestra.

    1. Where is Pops on the Heights held?
      1. On campus, inside Conte Forum, the home of BC basketball and hockey.

    1. Who can attend Pops on the Heights?
      1. Pops on the Heights is open to the entire Boston College community. We encourage you to bring your family and friends, but be sure to reserve your tickets early, as this event always sells out.

    1. Can I request specific seats?
      1. We CANNOT honor specific seat requests. Seats are assigned through an automated system in the order in which tickets are purchased.

    1. How do I buy tickets?
      1. You may call 1-800-767-5591 or order online at We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

    1. Must I purchase a ticket for my BC student? Do students have to purchase full-price tickets?
      1. Yes, students are required to purchase full-price tickets.

    1. If I purchase tickets and later find I cannot attend the event, can I get a refund?
      1. Unfortunately we are unable to process refunds.

    1. Is the ticket tax-deductible?
      1. A portion of the Premier Loge ($200) tickets is tax-deductible. Boston College will send tax receipts two to four weeks after the date your order is placed. Most donor-advised funds and many private foundations state that as a condition of their gift, no benefit can accrue to the person recommending the gift.

    1. Is handicapped-accessible seating available?
      1. Yes, the seats are $75. Please call 1-800-767-5591 to reserve handicap seats.

    1. Where can I pick up my tickets?
      1. Tickets for Pops on the Heights purchased prior to Friday, Sept. 1, will be mailed out around Labor Day weekend. They will be mailed to the address you have indicated on your order form.

        All other tickets can be picked up at the will-call window, which is located on the south side of Conte Forum (Beacon Street). The window opens at 10 a.m. on the day of the concert and remains open until 7:45 p.m.

    1. Where can I park?
      1. Between Parents’ Weekend and Pops on the Heights, Boston College welcomes more than 2,000 families to campus. With all those extra cars on campus, parking can be difficult. On-campus parking for the concert is available in the Commonwealth Avenue Garage as well as on the Newton Campus. Shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from Newton Campus.

    1. When do the doors open?
      1. Conte Forum will be open to the public starting at 6 p.m. You must have a ticket to enter Conte Forum.

    1. When does the concert start? When does the concert end?
      1. The Boston Pops Orchestra will begin playing at 8 p.m. and will finish around 10 p.m.

    1. What is the dress code?
      1. Pops on the Heights is a business casual event; however, many attendees choose to dress a little more formally.

    1. What kind of food is served?
      1. Ticket purchasers can expect a light gourmet boxed lunch at their seat when they arrive. These meals include a sandwich, chips, and dessert. Bottled water is available in coolers around the concourse. Gluten-­free and vegetarian options are available by exchanging your meal at our information tables located on the concourse at each entrance.

    1. When do the bars open, and what do they serve?
      1. Numerous bars are available to ticket holders on the concourse of Conte Forum. They open at 6 p.m. and close promptly at 7:45 p.m. They reopen during intermission. Each bar serves complimentary beer, wine, and soda.

    1. What is the Premier Loge Reception?
      1. Premier Loge ticket holders have access to a complimentary private cocktail reception in Power Gym before the concert and during intermission. A special entrance with direct access to Power Gym is located near Gate C, present your Premier Loge ticket to enter the reception. The bar opens at 6 p.m. and close at 7:45 p.m, reopening during intermission. There will be light hors d'oeuvres and student musical performances in Power Gym prior to the concert.

    1. Can I pay for my table using a Donor Advised Fund?
      1. Many donor advised funds have specific guidelines regarding grants to support charitable events, such as the Pops on the Heights Gala. Please consult your fund's custodian should you have any questions.

    1. When do the doors open?
      1. The VIP reception begins at 6 p.m. and is located on the concourse under Alumni Stadium. At 7:40 p.m., guests will be asked to move from the reception to the floor for the concert.

    1. When does the concert start? When does the concert end?
      1. The Boston Pops Orchestra will begin playing at 8 p.m. and will finish around 10 p.m.

    1. When will I receive my tickets?
      1. Tickets and parking passes for you and all of your guests will be sent via FedEx to you mid-September. If you have a special mailing request, please contact Peggy McCorkle at 617-­552-­1055 or

    1. What is the dress code?
      1. Pops isn't black tie, but it is a little dressy. Business formal is recommended.

    1. What kind of food is served?
      1. BC Dining serves an award-winning picnic-style dinner at your table. Prior to the concert there will be plenty of tasty hors d'oeuvres at the VIP reception.

    1. When do the bars open, and what do they serve?
      1. The bars within the VIP reception area on the stadium concourse will open at 6 p.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. There are two bars on either side of the Conte Forum floor that will be open from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and then again during intermission. Each table will also have complimentary bottles of red and white wine.

Leadership at the Heights


Launched by the legendary Jim Cleary '50, H'93, P'84 '89, Pops on the Heights began with a simple but powerful mission: bring the BC family together for a night of great music in support of financial aid. From the very beginning, Pops has been an opportunity to demonstrate what we are capable of as a community when we come together as "Eagles for Others". When Jim passed away in 2012, the baton was passed to John Fish, P'13, '18, and a succession of incredible leaders since. Thanks to the hard work of these chairs and the Pops Executive Committee, the 25th gala event promises to be the most successful Pops on the Heights ever!
