Special Celebration July 31 for BC Alumni in Europe – Stained glass window
BC alumni living in Europe are invited to a special international gathering for alumni of Jesuit schools and universities on July 31 to celebrate the feast of St. Ignatius Loyola.  The celebration will begin with Mass at 6:00pm at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 114 Mount St., Mayfair, London.  This will be followed by a reception at 7:00pm at the Mount Street Jesuit Centre adjacent to the church.  For further information, please e-mail 31stjuly@farmstreetchurch.info.

Next BC Alumni Volunteer Night at Cor Unum September 19 –

Cor Unum (“one heart”) is a year-old meal center in Lawrence, MA serving up to 600 hungry people every day.  The majority of meals are served to young children, elderly and even whole families, who don’t have enough eat.  What’s different about this outreach is that Cor Unum serves both breakfast and dinner, but restaurant style.  That means the guests who come are served at their tables.  If you want to join other BC alumni do some simple acts of kindness, then contact Dianne Duffin at 617-552-1171, or duffindi@bc.edu.

stained glass“…As alumni and alumnae of Jesuit schools, colleges, and universities, you are called by the Society of Jesus to be men and women who reflect upon the reality of the world around you with all its ambiguities, opportunities, and challenges in order to discern what is really happening in  your lives and the lives of others, to find God there and to discover where he is calling you, to employ criteria for significant choices that reflect Godly values rather than narrow, exclusive self-interest, to decide in light of what is truly for the greater glory of God and the service of those in need, and then to act accordingly.”
