Susan Power Gallagher, NC'69, P'00

Susan Power Gallagher is vice president for human resources at Johnson O'Hare Company. She joined Johnson O’Hare in 1989 as an administrative assistant, and was promoted to the position of director of administration and human resources in 1997. Prior to her time with Johnson O’Hare, Gallagher was a teacher of foreign languages in the Canton and Arlington public schools and later became a partner in an event-planning firm. She is also a volunteer in the speakers program of the New England Organ Bank.

As a volunteer for Boston College, Gallagher's dedication to the University and the Alumni Association is exceptional. As president of the Boston College Alumni Association in 2005–06, she was the fourth woman and first graduate of Newton College of the Sacred Heart to serve in that role. Gallagher has served on the Alumni Association national board of directors, and she continues to be an active member of the spiritual life committee. She also serves on the Alumni Awards Committee, mentors in the BC Connections program, and is an associate of the Council for Women of Boston College.

The embodiment of the Jesuit ideal of "men and women for others," Gallagher's unwavering loyalty and commitment to Boston College illustrates the core value of service and volunteerism that is so important to the Light the World Campaign. She can always be counted on to make a difference when it matters most.
