Every attempt has been made to allow successful completion, printing and submission of this form function on many platforms and browsers. However, there are some caveats before you begin.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
- You should know your secondary school or college CEEB institution code before attempting to complete the Boston College Supplemental Application. High School (Secondary School) Codes. University CEEB Codes.
- If you want to utilize the Boston College On-line Application Fee Payment transaction, you should have your credit card information readily available.
- After completing this form, print a copy for your records, then click the SUBMIT button one time at the bottom of the form. You will receive a confirmation page for your records that will indicate successful submission of your supplemental application. Be patient at or near deadlines, as web traffic can slow down the receipt of this confirmation page. Without receiving confirmation, you cannot be assured that your application was submitted. The supplemental application confirmation page contains the optional link to the Boston College On-line Application Fee Payment transaction.
- Successful submission of the Boston College On-line Application Fee Payment transaction will return another confirmation page with a transaction identification number that you will need to print for your records.
- It is critically important that you keep your email account active (and your inbox with sufficient space to receive messages) throughout the admission process. The Office of Undergraduate Admission may communicate with you via email throughout the year, and is not to be held responsible for messages sent to an inactive account, or one with insufficient space to receive our messages. Please notify us immediately if you change your address at any point in time.

TECHNOLOGY SPECIFICATIONS

Submission of this form is supported on both Windows PC's and Macs*. Windows PC users should submit the form from inside the web browser. Mac Users: Please click here for additional instructions
NECESSARY SOFTWARE
Adobe (for students using Windows PC's or Macs)
- You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to use this form. To download a free copy, go to http://www.adobe.com
- The latest version from Adobe is recommended, however, you should be able to complete the form with any version greater than 7.0.
- NOTE: If you are running Adobe 7.0, you will need to update to Adobe 7.03 because of a known Adobe issue. This can be done by bringing up Adobe, selecting the Help option, and then selecting ‘Check for updates now…’ By selecting 7.03, you will automatically select 7.01 and 7.02, along with 7.03.
Internet Explorer (for students using Window's PC's)
- If submitting outside the browser window, IE 6.0 or greater is needed to work with Adobe 6.0 or greater.
- If submitting inside the browser window, IE 5.0 or greater will work.
Netscape (for students using Window's PC's)
- If submitting outside the browser window you will need Netscape 7.1 or greater.
- If submitting inside the browser window you will need a version of Netscape that is 6.2 or greater (Netscape 6.0 does not support the completion of Adobe Forms. If you are a Netscape 6.0 user, you will need to upgrade to Netscape 7.0 to use this form).
Safari (for students using Macs)
- Safari 2.0.4 or greater is recommended.
Mozilla Firefox (for students using Window's PC's or Macs)
- Firefox 2.0.0.1 or greater is recommended.
Setting Adobe Reader to display the Supplemental Form inside the web browser:
1. Open Adobe Acrobat Reader.
2. Under the Edit menu, select Preferences.
3. On the left hand navigation bar, click on Internet.
4. Under Web Browser Options, make sure the box that reads "Display PDF in browser" is
checked.
5. Click OK. The Supplemental form should now open in your web browser.
If you experience problems printing the form, try setting the selection "Print as Image" in the Printer Dialogue box after selecting the print button on the form.
After printing a copy of the form and submitting the form from the SUBMIT button, you should receive a confirmation page. If you do not see this confirmation page, DO NOT click the SUBMIT button again. Instead, please call our office to confirm that the submission was successful.
Important Information for Mac users:
If you are are using a Mac with an OS X operating system, you may encounter problems when trying to submit the online supplemental application. Most notably, you may not be able to fill out certain drop-down menu fields or the form may appear to be missing certain fields. This is a result of a known issue between the Safari or Firefox web browsers and Adobe software.
Therefore, in order to fill out the online supplemental application, please follow the instructions below (You may want to print out the following instructions before filling out the supplemental application). If you still encounter problems after following the instructions below, please call our office at 1-800-360-2522.
1. Make sure you have the most current version of Adobe reader installed. You can
download Adobe Reader for free at www.adobe.com. In order to fill out the online
supplemental form, you must use Adobe Reader. The form cannot be filled out using
Preview.
2. Click here to go to the Electronic Applications page on the Boston College Undergraduate
Admission website.
3. Go to Step 1 in the section "Applying Via the Web." Ctrl + click on the link that reads
"Submit the Boston College Freshman Supplemental Application and pay the fee
electronically." Click on "Download Linked File As..."

4. A "Save As" box will now appear on your screen. Make sure that the format is
"Portable Document Format" and that you are saving it to a location where you can
easily find it. Click Save.

5. Find this form on your computer. Ctrl + click on the form and choose the "Open With"
option. Then choose Adobe Reader. The form should open in Adobe Reader and allow
you to fill out all of the fields.
