Update for Early Action Candidates Affected by Recent Natural Disasters
Please know that the thoughts and prayers of the Boston College community are with all residents of areas affected by the recent wildfires in California. We recognize that home damage is affecting and will continue to affect many families. We hope that your property has been spared, but most importantly, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe.
We realize that high school seniors who are affected by this crisis may be concerned about meeting our Regular Decision deadline. If you are a Boston College Regular Decision candidate who has been affected by these unforeseen circumstances, we offer the following guidelines for how to proceed:
- Your family and your home environment should be your primary concern at this time. The college admission process, while important, is secondary to making sure you are safely returned to your home with full power.
- Students unable to meet Boston College’s January 1 Regular Decision deadline should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission at 800-360-2522 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be happy to work with you on an individual basis to complete your application. If paying the application fee would be burdensome for your family in light of current circumstances, please contact us, and we will grant you a waiver with no need for explanation.
- If it is easier for you, your teachers, or your counselors to submit paper versions of your application, please send them to: Boston College, Undergraduate Admission Processing Center, P.O. Box 67485, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 or via email to email@example.com.
We commend those who have assisted with rescue efforts thus far. Yet, we realize that many people will be dealing with the effects of these events for weeks and even months to come. For those who have sustained loss and for those who have begun the process of rebuilding, you remain in our thoughts and prayers.
