The Boston College athletic program shares the University's commitment to the development of the whole person—body as well as mind and spirit.
Boston College offers 12 men's and 15 women's varsity sports, all of which compete at the NCAA Division I level. The University ranks sixth in the nation in terms of Division 1 student-athlete graduation rates; its football Eagles have one of the highest graduation rates of any Division 1-A program in the country.
In addition to its varsity teams, the department sponsors 49 intramural, recreational, and club sports, many housed in the University's Silvio O. Conte Forum, a state-of-the-art athletic and convocation center. More than 6,000 undergraduates participate in the sports annually.
